The high quality of our Aquarius range of personal lockers is evident in the male and female changing rooms of the Arena Health and Fitness Club – part of the Ricoh Arena complex, the home of Coventry City Football Club.
The changing facilities are the centre point of a superb gymnasium and workout facility. Specified to accommodate 3,000 members the club provides some 110 stations, offering the best available cardiovascular and strength development equipment.
“It was important that such a high quality facility was reflected throughout the complex which prompted the decision to specify Link 51’s Aquarius locker range.” Comments the fitness club project manager, Jeremy Thornton-Clarke. “Importantly, the entire Link 51 installation was completed in just four days to meet an extremely tight build programme and was specified to complement cubicles and other fittings within each changing area.” This latter point prompted specification of Trespa laminate wood grain doors, installed onto the aluminium support frame of the Aquarius range.
Both male and female changing rooms offer 120 compartments installed in a two-tier configuration with each compartment containing a hanging rail and two coat hooks.
Operation is via a £1 coin return locking system that provides the user with a wrist-band for the duration of their stay at he facility. Furthermore, with keys being lost or sometimes retained by individual users, the locking mechanism on each locker compartment is designed to permit simple replacement of the lock cylinder, ensuring the changing facility is available for 100% use at all times.
“Day to day management of an installation of this size must be easy and it is vital that the infrastructure assists in this,” comments Joeri Decae, Sales Director at Link 51. “We therefore recommended the lockers installation be complemented by benches which feature tubular, powder-coated construction. As with the Aquarius lockers, these benches are also ideal for wet area application and are also easy to clean around.”
