Gym goers can look forward to secure and robust changing facilities after Link 51 Lockers & Cupboards, the UK’s largest locker manufacturer, won a major new contract with one of the country’s fastest growing fitness groups.
Link 51 Lockers will be supplying its stylish and durable two and three door steel lockers with integral seating to The Gym Group.
The nationwide gym group, which is planning a major expansion programme in 2011, secured the services of the Midland-based manufacturer of market leading locker room solutions because of its reputation for providing cost-effective and hard-wearing products that are not only stylish but can withstand heavy-traffic.
Link 51 Lockers worked closely with the company to ensure that it could provide doors that are an exact colour match to its corporate colours. As the company is keen to enhance a spacious feel to its changing rooms, the lockers are fixed to the perimeter walls. Benches will also be installed in the centre of the changing rooms to provide a more comfortable changing environment for gym customers. The same design will be mirrored across all the centres for brand consistency.
John Treharne, Chief Executive of The Gym Group, said “Link 51 Lockers’ good quality padlocking systems were also crucial to the design because it meant customers did not have to take change with them and the gym would not lose keys.”
Cleverly designed and manufactured to be strong, durable and secure, all Link 51 Lockers products are also supplied with a unique BioCote® protective finish as standard. BioCote® is a silver-based anti-microbial technology that reduces the risks associated with bacterial cross-contamination and helps keep heavy traffic areas hygienic.
“Aesthetics and comfort are of equal importance and careful design and planning can move this part of any leisure facility from a functional essential to a complementary part of the overall experience,” says Andrew Millward, Sales Director at Link 51 Lockers.
“We worked very closely with The Gym Group on the design and functionality of the changing rooms so that its customers have enough space to change comfortably and be able to store their clothes and bags securely.”
Link 51 Lockers is proud of its long record for providing excellent customer service, which includes full tailored design and installation, as well as advice on the variety of colourways, door configurations and additional changing room equipment. Andrew said its breadth of experience across the leisure sector meant that customers’ requirements, however demanding, can be accommodated.
“Secure lockers that are hard-wearing and look good are vital to our business. We know we can rely on Link 51 Lockers to provide the exacting service and products we need. Quality, value for money and hard-wearing products are ideal for our high volume gyms because they attract more than 1,100 users per day and are open 24/7”.
