Delighted to keep it in the family

Perhaps the industry’s longest serving family has received recognition by the UK’s leading storage equipment manufacturer Link 51.

Husband and wife Joan and Alan Turner have been recognised for 40 years’ and 25 years’ continuous service respectively at the company and were delighted to receive Long Service Certificates in recognition from Link 51 Managing Director Marko Ivanovic.

“It is always a great pleasure to acknowledge such admirable service for the organisation,” says Marko, “which, I believe, pays testimony to one of the key factors behind our success in the business. The fact that the awards go to a married couple is, in my memory, unique and am delighted to pass on our thanks and appreciation for the dedication both Alan and Joan continue to show.”

In fact, their long service is only part of an even more remarkable story. Design Department Team Leader Alan is also proud of his two brothers’ service at Link 51 – Roy has worked in the company’s pallet racking factory for some 32 years as did his brother John for 21 years. Alongside this Joan, who works in the company’s ordering department, can add seven years’ service before taking a break to have the couple’s daughter Nicola, as well as a further two years as a trainee before that.
