In response to the Food Standards Agency (FSA) latest campaign aimed at reducing the number of people getting ill from Campylobacter, Britain’s most common cause of food poisoning, Link 51 has confirmed that the BioCote® protection used on its steel shelving and lockers is effective against a wide range of bacteria including Campylobacter.
Every year Campylobacter is linked to about 460,000 poisoning cases, 22,000 hospital admissions and 110 deaths, and the FSA has recently said they want to see a “shift in culture” in the food industry.

BioCote is a silver ion-based antimicrobial technology that is scientifically proven to reduce levels of bacteria such as Campylobacter, E.coli and MRSA on a treated product’s surface. On a BioCote protected surface, the levels of tested bacteria are reduced by up to 99.9% over a 24-hour period, compared to non-protected surfaces, where bacteria can proliferate at dramatic rates.
