Heritage – denoting or relating to things of special architectural, historical, or natural value that are preserved for the nation. (Oxford Dictionaries)
The preservation of our heritage can take many forms from the seed bank at Kew Gardens to the BFI Film Store or even the Royal Botanic Gardens, all endeavour to preserve a part of our culture, way of life or being which we want future generations to be able to enjoy, learn from and adapt further.
It is important then that storage methods used to preserve our heritage are given as much thought as the process itself. Shelving is not simply a metal frame upon which we place our nations heritage, it can and should be much more.
By talking to Link 51 you can be secure in the knowledge that you are talking to the UK’s archive and heritage storage experts. We have worked on projects which have seen us design innovative, secure, future proof storage for everything from films to cars and seeds to literature.
We work with you to understand your unique requirement as we know that no project is alike. We ask questions, lots of questions including are the items being stored for long term storage or is frequent access required, or a mix of both. Do the items have temperature or lighting sensitivities, what is the mix of shapes, sizes, weights etc. All of these questions will help us create the ideal solution for you and your collection.
This solution can be as complex or as simple as your needs require and whether you are planning a new build, extension or refurbishment and regardless if you are yet to begin or the project is in full swing we can help.
